Cancellation policy

Thank you for choosing the H&G Tea subscription. This policy explains how our subscription service works, including billing, deliveries, cancellations and your rights. By starting a subscription with us, you agree to the terms below.

1. How the subscription works

  • Choose four teas to build your box of 100 tea bags.
  • Your subscription renews every month by default.
  • You can adjust delivery frequency.
  • You can change your teas*, delivery schedule or cancel at any time through your account.

2. Building and updating your box

You can update your selection of teas at any time before your renewal date. If no changes are made, we will send the same blends as your previous box.

3. Billing cycles

We offer three payment options:

Monthly payments

You are billed every month on your renewal date.

6-month payments (save)

You are billed once every six months. This covers six subscription boxes delivered on your chosen schedule.

*You can not change the choice of teas in this time, but you can contact us to make a manual change.

Annual payments (save more)

You are billed once a year. This covers 12 subscription boxes, delivered monthly or at your chosen frequency.

*You can not change the choice of teas in this time, but you can contact us to make a manual change.

Your renewal date is always visible in your customer account.

4. Payment processing

Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments, Stripe or PayPal depending on your checkout selection. We do not store your full card details.

If a payment fails, our system will retry automatically. If payment cannot be taken, your subscription may be paused until payment information is updated.

5. Delivery

  • All subscription boxes are packed in Hertfordshire, UK.
  • Orders are dispatched via Royal Mail 48-hour delivery.
  • Delivery times may vary during busy periods or due to Royal Mail delays.
  • Shipping is currently available within the UK only.

A confirmation email is sent when your box ships.

6. Changing your subscription

You can make the following changes at any time through your customer account:

  • Swap teas*
  • Update delivery frequency
  • Change payment method
  • Skip an upcoming renewal
  • Pause your subscription
  • Cancel your subscription

Changes must be made before your renewal is processed. Once a renewal has been charged and dispatched, it cannot be cancelled.

7. Cancelling your subscription

There is no minimum commitment. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your online account. Cancellations take effect from your next billing cycle.

8. Refunds & returns

Love it or swap it guarantee

If a blend is not right for you, you can update your teas before your next renewal*. We do not offer refunds for subscription boxes that have already been processed.

Damaged or incorrect items

If your box arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us at hello@handgtea.com within 7 days of delivery and we will arrange a replacement.
